Research and Communication Support

Caroline Wilhem has been in charge of research and communication support for the Institute of Geography and Sustainability (IGD) since the 1st of November 2017.

Following a career in research in Geology in the Faculty of Geosciences and Environment of UNIL from 2005 to 2011 (PhD and postdoctoral project), Caroline Wilhem turned towards scientific support and communication. After a few months in the Global Marine and Polar Programme at the IUCN Headquarters, in 2014 she joined the Research center on alpine environment (CREALP) in Sion as Scientific Communication Manager.

Her experience in various professional environments has enabled her to get familiarized with a wide range of natural and social issues in the domain of geosciences and environment. In parallel, she augmented her background in natural sciences by some master courses in Human and Social Geography between 2014 and 2016. In 2017, she obtained a certification in project management (CAPM ®).

At UNIL, Caroline provides researchers of IGD with customized support in research funding and scientific communication. Strongly attached to the quality and dissemination of research, she works towards collaborative, interdisciplinary and open science.
