Arthur OLDRA

I am a junior lecturer in the Institute of Geography and Sustainability of the University of Lausanne since 2021 under the supervision of Pr. Mathis STOCK.

I completed my entire academic curriculum at the University of Bordeaux Montaigne. Then, benefiting from a doctoral contract since 2015, I have conducted a thesis under the supervision of Pr. André-Frédéric HOYAUX entitled "Individual spatialities and games of places in urban public space. From some geographical perspectives about the military in operation Vigipirate/Sentinelle" that I defended in November 2019.

My research focuses on the constitution of geographical referents of personal identities and on contemporary movements of the inhabiting. I am particularly interested in spatialities experienced in public space as well as in specific socio-spatial contexts such as military or hospital institutions.

I pay particular attention to :
– the games of “places" at the scale of inter-personal interaction situations ;
– the lived experiences during mobilities;
– the construction of discourses and geographical imaginaries.

My research is part of a "microgeography" of contemporary spatialities, and attempts to deconstruct both the strategies of suffered influences and the mechanisms of chosen subjection.
