How can we model the necessary transformation of our Swiss economy to bring it within planetary limits while guaranteeing a decent life for the population, with a concern for well-being and social justice?
The 'Planning for Transformation' project will look at how the Swiss economy can fit into Kate Raworth's Donut, i.e. respect planetary limits while ensuring a decent life and prosperous well-being for its population. We know why our society is neither ecologically nor socially sustainable, we know what a sustainable world looks like, now we need to chart a course to achieve it.
We'll be tackling the big words of economics, with the concepts of ecological planning, degrowth, post-growth, redistribution, sobriety and renunciation, and the ambition to create a dynamic model that will be able to assess which public policy scenarios will enable us to achieve this objective of social and environmental justice.
