This thesis aims to deeply analyze the dynamics of multinational corporations' establishment, their networks, and their impacts on urban development in Africa. It focuses on assessing the economic and urban transformations driven by these corporations, particularly regarding the economic specialization of cities, the integration of local economies into global networks, and the enhancement of urban connectivity through physical and digital infrastructure.

Special attention will be given to the capacity of African cities to leverage these investments in a balanced and sustainable manner. The study will provide a unique empirical analysis of the level of integration of African cities into global economic networks. It will explore the dynamics of urban specialization and offer recommendations for tailored public policies aimed at maximizing the local benefits of international investments.

Contributing to academic literature, this research will deliver concrete data on the impact of multinational corporations on African cities and address a critical gap in understanding the mechanisms of integrating local economies into globalization. This project seeks to guide policymakers and researchers in developing strategies to foster balanced and sustainable urban development while strengthening the role of African cities as key players in global economic networks.
