The project "Multifunctionality of Alpine hydropower infrastructures" was launched in October 2020, as a post-doctoral research (2020-2023, by Silvia Flaminio), a thesis (2021-2025, by Andréa Savoy) and an academic research (2023-2024, by Nathalie Gees).
We aim to study the concept of multifunctionality in Switzerland (origin of the concept, evolution, vision of multifunctionality by the different actors), to analyse the governance of multifunctionality through the Institutional resource regimes (IRR) approach and to formulate recommendations for taking into account the spatial and temporal components of the multifunctionality of water and dams, in particular at the time of the return of hydroelectric concessions.
