My doctoral thesis specifically analyzes the practice of chamois and deer hunting in the canton of Valais (Switzerland) and is structured around three main themes:
- The relationships woven between hunters and animals (deer, chamois, marmot, etc.).
- The relationships woven among hunters themselves (territory negotiation, ethical issues related to the practice, etc.).
- The way hunters adapt their practices based on their personal worldview and, in turn, how their practices influences their worldview.
What allows me to connect these three themes under a common research question is the analysis of oral narratives: the famous "hunting stories."
