Our aim is to produce a book that offers an accessible and highly visual introduction to interpreting the landscape through the lens of geomorphology. Designed as an educational tool for teachers and students, but also as a nature guide for a broader audience, it seeks to provide simple yet rigorous insights for recognizing landforms, understanding their origins, and grasping the dynamics of the processes that shape them. This project is part of an effort to translate scientific knowledge and place-based knowledge into educational content, drawing on empirical research in geomorphology as well as case studies in Switzerland, the Alps, and elsewhere to illustrate various themes.

This project is a joint initiative of the University of Lausanne and the University of Teacher Education of the Canton of Vaud. It is funded by a Matterhorn grant from the Faculty of Geosciences and the Environment.
