Geographies of waste

Pollution and wastes are central topics of René Véron's current work. Apart from the study of interactions of changing materialities, dynamic spatialities and sociopolitical processes, his policy-relevant research projects seek to contribute to more sustainable and socially just solid waste management.

Urban political ecology

René Véron's recent work is inspired by the framework of urban political ecology. He seeks to complement the neo-Marxist approach by contributing to the development of Foucauldian, situated and actor-oriented perspectives of urban political ecology. Going beyond a focus on urban resources and services, he also aims to contribute to an urban political ecology of pollution and wastes.
