Born in Basel (1976). Studies and diploma for primary school teaching from Liestal. Between 2000 and 2004 primary school teacher in Switzerland, and 2004/05 secondary school teacher in Northern Nigeria within a professional exchange program. 2005-2010 university studies at the University of Fribourg in Geography and Social Anthropology. Field research in Ethiopia for MA thesis, entitled: “Water & women in rural Amhara. A naturalized connexion reflecting a restricting political agenda in Ethiopia".

Between 2010 and 2016, teaching and research assistant at the Institute of Geography and Sustainability at the University of Lausanne. Various contributions to BA and MA courses in Human Geography and Development Geography. In parallel, preparation of PhD thesis, extensive field work in Niamey (Niger) between 2011 and 2014. Research stay in Ouagadougou (Laboratoire Citoyenneté) and Niamey (Lasdel), funded with a mobility grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation (2013/14). Doctoral thesis defended in november 2016, entitled: “Negotiating access, property and public authority at the urban margin. Land struggles and State making in Niamey, Niger" (written in french).
