Victor Cannilla is a doctoral fellow at the Institute of geography and sustainability (IGD). He is part of the REAL project and is supervised by Professor Julia Steinberger. His research focuses on the links between international relations and political ecology, in particular on the types of interstate architectures that could enable the emergence of more just and sustainable post-growth societies.
Victor holds a bachelor's degree in physics from EPFL (2014), a master's degree in financial engineering from EPFL (2016) and a master's degree in political economy of capitalism from the University of Geneva (2023). Between his two master's degrees, he spent five years in the private sector, notably as an algorithmic trader and corporate strategy consultant for multinationals, experiences that fueled his questioning about growth, ecological devastations and transnational power relations.
