I am a postdoctoral researcher working on the macroeconomic and political economy possibilities and challenges of moving to a degrowth/post-growth economy. In my current project "CliMacro", I examine what a macrofinancial framework for a post-growth economy could look like and which institutional and policy changes could help bring such shift about. I explore and develop proposals for monetary-fiscal coordination, monetary reform and democratic macroeconomic coordination as means to bring about a social-ecological transformation of the economy. For that purpose, I apply heterodox economic theory and methodology, including (Marxian) Political, Ecological Macroeconomics and heterodox theories of money and finance. I am also part of the ERC-funded project "REAL: A Post-Growth Deal".
Through my research, I seek to contribute to a social-ecological transformation of both the economy and economics. I am part of different groups which share this goal, including but not limited to the Lausanne Ecological Economic Lab, the Sustainable Money Research Group and the international Post-Growth Economics Network. I engage with diverse audiences to discuss, share and advance alternative economic approaches within and outside of academia.
