The law on cycle routes came into force at the beginning of 2023. Local authorities are required to develop a high-quality cycle network for both business and leisure purposes. But why, for whom and how can cycling be promoted? How do you choose the right facilities? What promotional measures should be put in place? These are the questions that the Guide Velo answers.
An initial version was developed for the Master's course on 'Sustainable mobility: practices, facilities, strategies' with support from the UNIL Educational Innovation Fund. This reworked version, both online and in paper format, has been designed by OUVEMA and bfm for a wide audience. Available in French and German, the guide was developed with the support of a group of experts. It's an ambitious guide to making the region bike-friendly and harnessing the potential of cycling!
