My research focuses on analysing complex socio-ecological systems in the Global South and the Global North.
Through the lens of Development studies and political ecology, I analyse the major issues facing rural communities today in the alluvial plains and deltas.
I seek to understand how communities adapt to the pressure of the global economy and at the same time to the impacts of environmental change on the agroecological systems.
I develop Geographical Information Systems (GIS) that integrate different indicators to measure and map the interactions between societies and their environments.
I develop risk assessments that can help to identify the places most exposed to hazards.
Finally, I observe how agroecological systems are considered in environmental policies (agriculture, hydrology, biodiversity conservation) applied by states (India, Bangladesh, France, Italy) by considering the development trajectories adopted on both sides.
